We’ve lost Wetherby to the rain and the ground has quickly eased to soft at Chepstow and could be heavy come race time.
No Wetherby means I’m left with selections from Kempton and Leopardstown.
Kempton
2:30 – Editeur Du Gite – 7/1 @ Bet365 – Won this race 12 months ago when it wasn’t a handicap. Not looked the same horse on two starts this season but could well get an uncontested lead and if he does bounce back to last year’s best would be tough to peg back.
Leopardstown
1:45 – Caldwell Potter – 8/1 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – Got off the mark at the second attempt over fences when beating 24 rivals in a Navan novice hurdle 18 days ago. Up in class here but his jumping last time was good, and he looks a nice prospect. Any further ease in the ground will help.
