Today’s selections are from Brighton and Pontefract.
Brighton
5:30 – Heer’s Sadie – 4/1 – Gen – Bids for a C&D hat trick in the lucky last. The mare who is at her best on quick ground came from the rear in a strongly run race to get up close home last time. Only up 2lb for last month’s success but might not get the same pace set up as last time.
Pontefract
4:50 – Newyorkstateofmind – 10/1 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – A winner at Hamilton in June, from 2lb lower, did well from a wide draw to finish a 2 ½ length 5th of 12 at Wolverhampton 15 days ago. The 6-year-old isn’t the most consistent of handicapper and is having his first run at Pontefract. Handy low draw and trainer Ruth Carr has won this race, which is named after Chaplins Club who was trained by her grandfather David Chapman, twice in the past 10 years.
