It was nice to get the new month off to a winning start on Monday. Today’s selections are from Brighton and Nottingham.
Brighton
3:20 – Orange Martini – 7/1 @ Bet365 & Betfair Sportsbook – Improved when 2 ½ length 2nd of 11 at Haydock (1m) on her final start last season. She’s bred to appreciate 1m 2f so should be fine on the step up to that distance on her handicap debut.
Nottingham
4:40 – Wen Moon – 4/1 – Gen – Looked much improved when winning a 6f handicap at Pontefract at testing on his seasonal reappearance 21-days ago. He’s just 3lb higher here and handled testing ground last time. Tom Marquand has been booked and he’s having his first ride for trainer Ben Haslem.
