Today’s selections are from Day 1 of the Cheltenham Festival.
Cheltenham
1:30 – Mystical Power – 7/2 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – Has won both starts over hurdles and produced a nice turn of foot to win a Grade 2 at Punchestown last time. He’s my idea of the winner but the fitting of the first-time hood is a bit disconcerting. I just prefer him to stablemate Tullyhill although both are capable of more improvement.
5:30 – Embassy Gardens – 2/1 @ Bet365 & Ladbrokes – Embassy Gardens out over hurdles when to keen here 12 months ago in the Albert Bartlett but he put in an impressive round of jumping to win a Grade 3 at Naas 44 days ago. He’s now 2-2 over the fences and should stay today’s marathon trip. Like stablemate Mystical Power the first-time hood is applied.
