Today’s selections are from the Cheltenham Festival.
Cheltenham
1:30 – Iroko – 13/2 @ Paddy Power & Betfair Sportsbook – Last season’s Martin Pipe winner is the one horse in the line-up with serious upside. An impressive winner on chase debut at Warwick in November. He was then injured, and it looked like he would miss the festival. Despite this less-than-ideal prep I think he can go very close in the opener.
3:30 – Sire Du Berlais – 12/1 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – Was a surprise winner of this race at the age of 11 but he showed it was no fluke when going on to win a Grade 1 at Aintree and go close at Punchestown. He’ll be sharper for last month’s belated seasonal reappearance; he’s a guaranteed stayer and the spring is his time of year. Granted a good stamina test and this doesn’t prove one season to many I think he can win.
