Today’s selections are from Doncaster, and Ffos Las.
Doncaster
4:00 – Heroique De Maulde – 2/1 @ Coral – Twice a winner over fences when trained in France including on a sound surface. The 6-year-old returned from a 12 month absence with an excellent short head 2nd of 7 at Newcastle (good) on first start for James Ewart. Produced another solid effort when third back at the same venue last time. Back from wind surgery here and should go close.
Ffos Las
2:33 – Oneupmanship – 6/1 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – Not much encouragement to be gleaned from his stable debut for Anthony Honeyball in November. On the plus side he’s a former course winner over hurdles and was in the process of running a good race when falling two out on chase debut here in December 2021. Trainer has his horses in better form now and the selection looks competitively weighted.
3:43 – Ballydisco – 6/1 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – The selection ran well on his second start over hurdles for Philip Hobbs when a 4 ½ length 2nd of 14 at Uttoxeter in December. He didn’t build on that promise when only 6th of 15 at Chepstow last time. Trainer won this race last year though and the combination of a step up to 2m 4f and going handicapping for the first time can see the 6-year-old in a better light.
