Today’s selections are from the Curragh and Ascot.
Curragh
5:05 – Comfort Zone – 11/2 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – Won three of his four starts over hurdles last winter and looks on a good mark if his can translate his improved hurdles form back on the flat. Won a Roscommon maiden when last seen on the level last August. Today’s 1m 5f trip should suit but he might not want the ground to quick.
5:40 – Hotrocket – 11/1 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – Looked a handicapper on the upgrade when winning at Gowran Park & Fairyhouse in the summer. Got stuck in the mud when down the field at Galway last time. Probably worth forgiving his last time out effort and I can see getting back to form here.
Ascot
5:30 – Call Me Ginger – 11/2 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – Won over C&D last July (good to firm) and got off the mark for the season for the first time when beating ten rivals at Chester 7 days ago. Up 4lb for his latest success but Amie Waugh is back in the saddle to take off a handy 5lb which negates the weight rise. Likes to come off a strong pace and should get that pace set up here.
