Today’s selections are from York & Chepstow.
York
2:37 – Faisal – 3/1 @ Bet365 & Ladbrokes – Lost his unbeaten record when a 1 ¾ length 2nd of 7 at Doncaster 31-days ago. Only beaten by an improver last time. Had been off three months prior to his Doncaster run and remains open to further improvement. First start on slow ground but if he handles it can win.
4:25 – Gumball – 9/2 @ Bet365 – The top-weight is a smart staying handicapper who looks interesting on his first run for new trainer Fergal O’Brien. Having his first start since finishing a 2¼ lengths 3rd of 7 to Opera Gift at Salisbury in May. The normally front running 7-year-old seems likely to get an uncontested lead and will be hard to pass if ready to roll first time.
5:00 – Lucander – 5/1 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – Is 2-4 here at York including winning over C&D last season and 2-5 on soft ground. Down the field on quick ground in the Cambridgeshire last time but had shaped like he was returning to winning form when 4th of 13 over C&D in August.
Chepstow
4:05 – Manofthemountain – 9/2 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – Trainer Emma Lavelle has started the month in winning form 3 wins from runners 38% in the past 14-days. The selection had jumped well when winning a valuable handicap chase at Cheltenham in April and although he’s 7lb higher now could well remain capable of better. He’s won for the last two seasons on his seasonal return and is 3 wins from 6 runs +13 on good ground.
