Today’s selections are from Ascot, the Curragh and Haydock.
Ascot
4:30 – Dark Trooper – 4/1 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – The selection has looked much improved for winning his last two starts at Yarmouth (good to soft) and Haydock (heavy) six days ago. A 3lb penalty shouldn’t prevent him from going close and given his present vein of form is difficult to ignore.
Curragh
4:40 – Bucanero Fuerte – 11/4 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – The selection beat race favourite Unquestionable a short head in the Anglesey Stakes over C&D last month. The drying ground means that that Unquestionable has been well supported in the ante post market whilst the selection has drifted out to a backable price. Both colts are open to further improvement and there shouldn’t be much between the pair once more. Rain is forecast and if it arrives, I know who I want to be with.
Haydock
2:25 – Isle Of Jura – 4/1 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – Isle Of Jura looks a big improver after easy win wins at Newbury & Newmarket. The handicapper has hiked the colt up 14lb for the latest of those success but that might stop him completing the hat trick although stall 13 might.
