Today’s selections are from Ayr and Plumpton
Ayr
1:45 – Omar Maretti – 4/1 @ Bet365 – A winner of his first two starts over hurdles two seasons ago and two from four when going over fences last season. A disappointing effort when pulling up in the Kim Muir Chase (9/1) at the Cheltenham Festival. His jumping didn’t hold up in a big field that day. And a return to a smaller field and a flatter track should suit the 8-year-old. He’s gone well fresh in the past and is a contender.
Plumpton
2:30 – Tip Top Mountain – 7/4 @ Bet365 – The 8-year-old won twice over fences last season including this race off 10lb lower. Returned from a 9 month lay off to make all at Fontwell 50-days ago. A 6lb rise in the weights makes life tougher but he’s likely to get his own way out in front again and looks capable of following up if he does.
