Today’s selections are from Pontefract, Musselburgh, and Windsor.
Pontefract
2:40 – J R Cavagin – 9/2 @ Ladbrokes & Paddy Power – Posted a seasonal best when a 2 length 4th of 8 at Thirsk 13 days ago and seems to be slowly returning to form. Now 2lb his last winning mark and should be bang there from a handy low draw in stall 4. The first time cheekpieces he wore last time are replaced by the first time visor.
Musselburgh
8:30 – Monhammer – 13/2 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – Twice a winner in 2022 including over C&D. The 5-year-old was a nose 2nd of 5 at Ayr two starts back and was a bit unlucky in the run 2f out when a 2 ½ length 3rd of 8 over C&D 10 days ago. Likely to be thereabouts once more.
Windsor
6:45 – Aphelios – 6/1 @ Paddy Power & Betfair Sportsbook – Was a progressive sprint handicapper in 2022 winning over C&D for his previous yard and subsequently at Carlisle & Kempton. Scoped dirty after a disappointing last of 11 at Newmarket (7/1) on his return to action. Has been given a 75 day break and can bounce back on quick ground that suits.
