Today’s selections are from Newbury & Ayr.
Newbury
4:10 – Al Mubhir – 4/1 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – Steadily progressive last season the selection won a Leicester handicap (1m) on his seasonal reappearance. Not disgraced on three subsequent starts and he goes well on testing ground. His stablemate Aldaary is set to go off a short-priced favourite for this Listed race but I’m going with Al Mubhir to cause a surprise.
Ayr
4:00 – Cosmos Raj – 3/1 @ Bet365 – The top weight is, 1-2 over C&D, got no sort of run between the final two furlongs when a 2 ¼ length 4th of 12 at Ripon 24 days ago. With a better run he would have gone close to winning at Ripon. He’s off the same mark today and should be there or thereabouts.
