Friday Selections – June 9th 2023

Hi all,

Salt Lake City ran a cracker on his seasonal return at Leopardstown yesterday evening and looked a bit unlucky not to win.

Today’s selections are from Market Rasen and Haydock.

Market Rasen

2:50 – Earlofthecostwolds – 5/1 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – I’m taking on favourite King Alexander with the selection. The 9-year-old is a three time course winner and is 2-3 over C&D. First run over timber for 530 days and his first run since finishing down the field in the Marathon on All-Weather Championship Day at Newcastle 63 days ago. If a short break has freshened him up (6-9 when returning from a 30 to 75 day layoff) then he’s got each way claims.

Haydock

7:20 – Palm Lily – 11/2 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – A winner on juvenile debut at Kempton last June, shaped with promise on her on her first start for 8 months when a 2 ¾ length 6th of 8 at Chester last month. The first time blinkers are applied today by trainer Ralph Beckett (23 winners from 107 runners 22% +88.87, 41 placed with his runners in the first time blinkers since 2018) and I’m expecting a big run from the filly.

Cheers

John
