A non-runner at Ascot means today’s selections are from Thirsk and Chepstow.
Thirsk
4:55 – Happier – 4/1 – Gen – Happier won a Redcar maiden (good to firm) in May and has finished runner-up on her last two starts in handicap company. She posted a career best on RPR’s when a short head 2nd of 7 at Hamilton (good to soft) 7 days ago. The cheekpieces go on for the first time and she must have a good chance back against her own sex.
Chepstow
6:50 – Fossos – 4/1 @ Bet365 & Coral – A three time C&D winner last season including two on soft ground. The 5-year-old can be slowly away which can hinder his chance, but he broke on level terms last time when a 1 ¼ length 2nd of 11 at Bath two days ago. If the quick turnaround isn’t a negative he should be bang there.
