Its the start of a new month and things can only get better after a truly horrible November.
Today’s selections are from Newbury which passed a morning inspection and will race this afternoon although I suspect we won’t be seeing much racing tomorrow.
Newbury
12:40 – Russian Ruler – 6/1 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – I’m going to take a chance with what looks the Nicky Henderson second string in the limited novices’ handicap chase. Russian Ruler ended last season with hurdle wins here and Kempton and looks a good chasing prospect.
3:00 – Dashel Drasher – 3/1 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – The likeable Dashel Drasher was runner-up to favourite Marie’s Rock at Cheltenham in January but that came over 2m 4f and today’s three mile trip is better. Lack of a recent run took its toll on the 10-year-old when 3rd of 6 at Wetherby last month. He should be spot on fitness wise here.
