Monday Selections – March 4th 2019

Hi all,

Another tough day for finding solid betting opportunities, despite four meetings across Britain & Ireland.

Fakenham

4:50 – Chambard – 5/2 – Gen –  The selection got his head in front at the fourth attempt over hurdles when winning at Exeter, two starts back. The 7-year-old then improved on that effort when runner-up at Ludlow, 26-days ago. Up in trip to 2m 4f but on a track like Fakenham the extra distance shouldn’t be an issue. Can continue the good form of the Venetia Williams stable.

Cheers

John

Saturday Selections 2nd March 2019

Hi all,

I haven’t managed to shake off the bug. So, another short post today. Both today’s selections run at Newbury

Newbury

2:40 – Dolos – 8/1 @Bet365 & William Hill – is one of three Paul Nicholls trained runners in this 2m 4f handicap chase.  The 6-year-old fits the right profile for the race, putting in a good jumping display when winning at Sandown 28-days ago. That win came over 2m and his best form is over that distance. If he stays, I think he can win, especially should he get a decent pace to chase.

4:05 – Molineaux – 9/4 – Gen – The 8-year-old won a novices’ handicap chase over todays distance at Wincanton two starts, before finishing runner-up in what looked a good race at Exeter, 8 days ago. That last run came over 3m so today’s drop back in distance is a slight concern back in non-handicap company. Sill capable of going well here.

Cheers

Friday March 1st 2019

Hi all,

It was nice to get a winner yesterday as True Destiny won the ‘lucky’ last at Kempton at a generous 7/2.

Today’s only selection runs this evening at Newcastle.

Newcastle

6:00 – Highwayman – 7/2 @ William Hill & Bet365 – The 6-year-old is previous C&D winner and wasn’t disgraced when 4th of 16 at Chelmsford, despite a wide trip, 34-days ago. Hints last time, that he could be about to return to winning ways off 4lb lower than his last winning mark. Trainer is 2 winners from 4 runners in the past 14-days which is another positive.

Cheers

Thursday 28th February 2019

Hi all,

A frustrating few days hitting the crossbar. Let’s hope we can start turning those placed efforts into some winners.

Newcastle

6:15 – Athollblair Boy – 9/4 – Gen A previous C&D winner who was a good second over 6f here 10-days. The selection is 2lb higher today but looks set for good run on track he goes well at.

Kempton

5:20 – Multitask –9/2 @ Paddy Power or 4/1 @ William Hill – Granted the 9-year-old is on a long losing run but he returned to action here last month with promising display. The selection only finished 6th of 11 but there’s no denying he’s a well handicapped horse if building on his last effort.

8:30 – True Destiny –11/4 @ William Hill or 5/2 – Gen – A winner here over 1m 3f back in October. He then improved further to win over today’s distance at Lingfield. Not so good next time at Chelmsford but shaped better here, 22 days ago, when 3rd of 5 after a 69-day break. Should have come on for that run and the return to 2m is in the 4-year-old’s favour.

Cheers
