Hi all,
Plenty of winners this month and a tidy profit. The prices haven’t been great, but I decided at the start of the month to concentrate on selections near to the front of the market which is why the despite the number of winners the profit wasn’t large.
The month ends with selections from Haydock, Ludlow, and Kempton.
Haydock
1:05 – Post Chaise – 5/2 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – A winner on handicap hurdle debut at Hereford in March. He’s placed on both starts since including when a 4 length 3rd of 13 at Kelso (2m 5f) on his seasonal return. The return to 3m should suit and he remains on a competitive mark.
2:37 – Nemean Lion – 3/1 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – A fascinating introductory hurdle and most of the nine runners are capable of better over hurdles and there’s likely one or two smart ones in the line-up. Non more so than the selection. A useful flat stayer when trained by Andre Fabre two years ago. The 5-year-old who needed his first start for Kerry Lee after a 748-day absence last month made an impressive hurdle debut at Hereford 15-days ago. He looked a smart prospect that day and even with a 5lb penalty can go in again.
Ludlow
1:45 – Cup Of Coffee – 7/2 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – Twice a winner including C&D last season. The mare was in the process of running a big race on seasonal return when falling two out at Fakenham 15-days ago. Meets the winner Mullenbeg on 6lb better terms here and provided her confidence hasn’t been affected by that mishap she shouldn’t be far away.
Kempton
7:20 – Aussie Banker – 5/1 @ Bet365 – A winner at Haydock on handicap debut in the spring. The 3-year-old has run with promise on both starts on the all-weather since returning from a 5 month break and was doing his best work at the finish when a 1 ¼ length 4th of 14 over C&D 21-days ago. Has a wider draw than ideal in stall 11 but Buick booked, and the selection is close to another win.
Cheers
John
