Today’s selections are from Stratford and Taunton.

Taunton

3:35 – Bangers And Cash – 4/1 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – No stamina issues for Bangers And Cash who won the Lincolnshire National at Market Rasen two starts back. Not at his best dropped back to 3m last time when only 10th of 12 at Uttoxeter but can hopefully bounce back here and resume his progressive ways.

Stratford

3:15 – Bubble Dubi – 4/1 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – Travelled for a long way like a well-treated horse when a 5 ½ lengths 5th of 10 at Warwick last month. He’s unexposed in handicap company and looks capable of going close here if handling today’s softer ground.  Provided he’s not ridden to far off the pace this track could suit.

Saturday Selections – March 11th 2023

Today’s selections are from Sandown and Wolverhampton.

Sandown

4:10 – Run To Milan – 11/2 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – Won a veterans chase at Exeter from a 5lb higher mark last February and posted a seasonal best when a 7 ¼ lengths 3rd of 18 to Wishing And Hoping in Veterans’ Handicap Chase Final over C&D last time. Trainer had a double at Ffos Las this week and the ease in the ground has come in time for him.

4:45 – Nocte Volatus – 6/1 @ Bet365 – A useful handicap chaser, who was beaten a neck in this race 12 months ago from a 2lb lower mark. Shaped with encouragement when a 2 ¾ length 2nd of 7 at Hereford on seasonal return. Has been set tough tasks on his last two starts but dropped back in class here and handicapped to be competitive.

Wolverhampton

2:40 – Angel Bleu – 11/4 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – A smart juvenile winning the Group 1’s Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere at Longchamp and a Group 1 Criterium International at Saint-Cloud. Not quite at his best on three starts as a 3-year-old although he did end the season with a 4 ¼ lengths 5th of 7 to Baaeed in the Group 1 Sussex Stakes at Goodwood. Takes a big drop in class for his return to action and all-weather debut and should be bang there if back to his best.

There are likely to be selections tomorrow but Monday will be a blank day as I gear up for the start of the Cheltenham Festival. All next week’s selections will be from Cheltenham.

5:45 – Compliant – 3/1 @ Bet365 – Previous C&D winner Compliant made it 2-2 since stepped up to 1m 2f+ when beating five rivals at Kempton 15-days ago. A 3lb rise in the weights looks workable and there’s a good chance that she will get the race run to suit once more.
