Huntingdon

3:30 – Hardy Boy – 100/30 @ Bet365 – A winner of two handicap hurdles here (2m 4 ½ f) and at Southwell last April. Both those successes came on good ground so any further ease in the ground would be a slight concern. Out of sorts on his first three starts this season. The 6-year-old produced a clear seasonal best when a short-head 2nd of 11 at Kempton last month. He’s been nudged up 3lb for last time but should be in the mix provided the rain stays away.

Cheers

Monday Selections – March 27th 2023

Hi all,

Today’s selections are from Wincanton and Wolverhampton.

Wincanton

2:30 – Calgary Tiger – 6/4 @ Bet365 – Has already proven to be a better chaser than a hurdler and made it 2-2 over the larger obstacles when winning at Newbury 24-days ago.  The 8-year-old won over C&D two starts back and despite a 10lb rise in the weights can go close on his hat trick bid.

Wolverhampton

7:00 – Coco Jamboo – 2/1 – Gen – Won a Newmarket nursery on her final juvenile start and returned from a six month absence with a 2 ¼ length 2nd of 5 over C&D 16-days ago. She remains capable of better and may just have needed her return.

Cheers

Sunday Selections – March 26th 2023

Hi all,

Today’s selections are from Naas, Exeter, and Carlisle.

Naas

3:10 – Spanish Tenor – 4/1 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – Won this race 12 months ago, off today’s mark and at Gowran Park off a higher mark. The ground will be more testing than last year but he’s won a heavy in the past so should be fine with the underfoot conditions. Likely been aimed at this race again and can go close.

Exeter

3:52 – Young Bull – 9/2 @ Bet365 – I wouldn’t be surprised if a return to C&D saw Samuel Jackson run much better but he was very disappointing at Warwick last time. However, the preference is for Young Bull who has been lightly raced in the last couple of seasons, just five starts in the last three years. A three time winning hurdler he’s 0-5 over fences but the fitting of the first time cheekpieces and a first attempt beyond 3m 2f can see him go close if he’s at his best.

Carlisle

2:25 – Netywell – 3/1 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – Looked a potential improving handicap chaser when winning at Ayr two starts back. Not as good back at that venue 53-days ago but he’s been given a short break since, and both his career wins have come on heavy ground so today’s underfoot conditions are a positive for a 6-year-old.

Cheers

John
