Today’s selections are from Taunton, Lingfield and Thurles.
Taunton
2:00 – Decorated – 100/30 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – A promising hurdler last season, he exhibited his potential with victories at Sedgefield and a triumphant handicap debut over the course and distance in March. However, a setback at Wetherby, where he was unexpectedly pulled up in his seasonal return 26 days ago, demands a return to form. He could get an uncontested lead here and that combined with a return to his best can see him go close.
Lingfield
12:35 – Felton Bellevue – 7/1 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – Produced one of his best performances over fences when a head 2nd of 12 over C&D in February. Now 7lb lower the 8-year-old needs bounce back from a low key seasonal return at Warwick 23 days ago. Yard’s horses going better now and better ground will suit him than the heavy he raced on last time.
Thurles
12:40 – Farouk D’alene – 6/1 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – Looked booked for an honourable second to L’Homme Presse in the Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase at Cheltenham last year. Off the track for 613 days, he didn’t get past the first in the Troytown Handicap Chase 11 days ago. If none the worse for his latest mishap I can see him going well in today’s feature race.
