Today’s selections are Catterick and Dundalk.
Catterick
3:00 – Some Scope – 4/1 @ Bet365 – Won an Irish Point in the spring of 2022and as expected improved for the step up to 3m when winning at Haydock on handicap hurdle debut in April. Despite a less impressive performance on his chase debut at Wetherby, finishing 12 ½ lengths 5th of 9, it’s worth noting the soft ground conditions there and his success at Haydock suggests he can do better on a sounder surface.
Dundalk
7:30 – Storm Eric – 5/1 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – Won here (7f) earlier in the month and was set too much to do when a never nearer 2 ¼ length 4th of 12 here (1m) two days ago. Despite the quick turnaround and stepping up 2 ½ furlongs in distance, his current form suggests he remains competitive. If he stays, Storm Eric is nicely handicapped and poised for a strong performance.”
