I’m off to Musselburgh for a couple of selections to try to maintain what’s been a good start to the week for the service.
Musselburgh
2:50 – Impression Chic – 100/30 @ Coral – Got off the mark over fences at the first time of asking when successful at Fontwell (2m 2f) 33 days ago. Only won by head last time and is up 4lb but should improve further over the larger obstacles and will be suited by the return to 2m 4f.
3:25 – Fidelio Vallis – 13/8 @ Bet365 – The selection was a useful handicap chaser in the spring of 2021 when trained by Paul Nicholls. He was returning from a 14 month layoff when a 4 ¼ length 2nd of 8 to Pay The Piper over C&D in February. That was the 8-year-old’s first start for Harry Derham, and he returns for the first time since. Likely to get an uncontested lead here and will be tough to pass.
