I’m hoping the forecast heavy showers stay away because all three of today’s selections likely need a sound surface.
Newmarket
2:10 – Hakuna Babe – 4/1 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – Has caught the caught the eye on all three starts since stepping into handicap company. Travelling through her races like she’s nicely treated off a mark of 71. The return to better ground will suit the filly who can shed the maiden tag at the 7th attempt.
Goodwood
4:55 – Vaynor – 9/1 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – Won four times during 2022 and there was plenty to like about his 1 ¾ length 3rd of 10 over C&D back in June. Not as good 11 days later at Newbury. However, he’s been given a 60 day break to freshen up. Needs a sound surface to be at his best and if he gets it won’t be far away.
Windsor
7:20 – Grey Fox – 9/2 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – Can a be a tricky ride but there was more to like about his 1 ¾ length 3rd of 12 at Sandown 16 days ago. He was caught of his ground that day after a slow start but finished of his race well enough. A four time winner at Windsor including three over C&D. He needs good or quicker ground.
