Today’s selections are from Newbury and Market Rasen.
Newbury
1:50 – Epic Poet – 5/1 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – Useful when trained in France ( 3 wins from 7 runs) including a Listed race over today’s distance 12 months ago. First start for Freddie & Martyn Meade and first run for 251 days but he did win first time up last season so can go well fresh. Should get an uncontested lead and with Osin Murphy booked, a big run is expected.
Market Rasen
2:05 – Wavering Down – 7/1 @ Coral & Ladbrokes – The 8-year-old looked as good as ever when a neck 2nd of 8 at Uttoxeter (2m 7 ½ f) 35 days ago. That was his first start for four months and he was just caught close to home. The drop back to an extended 2m 4f looks a plus. He’s been nudged up 2lb for his latest effort but should go close.
